My name is Katsuki, and I am responsible for the operation and management of passenger carts and autonomous wheelchairs at the airport.
On-site, I primarily provide services to customers, respond to inquiries, and guide them within the airport. Internally, I act as a bridge between the company and staff, addressing their questions and requests as a site leader.
My hobbies include ballet and HIPHOP dance, as I enjoy moving my body. Although I don’t dance as much nowadays, I go for massages and do light training to maintain my posture.

During my student years, I obtained certifications as a nutritionist and a chef. After graduation, I worked at hospitals and daycare centers for a while, but due to health issues, I went through various jobs for a period of time.
Later, I joined the food service industry, where I was responsible for overall management, including in-store operations (customer service, menu creation, etc.), staff management (scheduling, etc.), and customer relations.
Currently, I work at an airport, assisting passengers with mobility difficulties, providing guidance within the facility, training new staff, and establishing crisis management system.

How did you come to take on your current job?

In search of new discoveries…

I first learned about this job when a friend introduced it to me while I was considering a career change.
Up until then, I had mostly worked in the food service industry, so I had never imagined working at an airport—it wasn’t even one of my options. On top of that, I couldn’t speak English, which made me worry that I might not be suited for the role.
However, when I visited the airport for a workplace tour, I was amazed by the global environment, where people of various nationalities were constantly coming and going. It felt as if I had stepped into another country, and it made me realize that the airport truly is Japan’s “gateway to the world.”
In the end, I decided to take on this challenge—something I wouldn’t have normally chosen—hoping that it would lead to new discoveries.

What attracts you to your current position?

Staff growth and customer appreciation are rewarding.

One of the most appealing aspects of this job is the opportunity to learn a language while working.
When I first started, I struggled with the language barrier when assisting foreign customers. However, as I gradually picked up words one by one, I found it exciting to see myself becoming able to communicate little by little.
Additionally, to ensure the highest level of safety and customer satisfaction, I not only focus on improving my own performance but also take pride in guiding my team as a site leader. Contributing to both better service for customers and the growth of my colleagues gives me a strong sense of fulfillment.
Recently, a customer left a positive comment about my service on the airport’s website, and I was recognized internally for it. Receiving words of appreciation and praise boosts my motivation and reinforces my passion for my work!

What are your future goals?

Be able to lead the company

Currently, I’m focusing on staff development, but I find it challenging to tailor training to each individual, as everyone has different strengths and learning styles.
However, I believe that enhancing each staff member’s knowledge directly leads to better customer service and safe operations. That’s why I want to take the time to truly understand each person’s strengths and weaknesses and provide the support they need.
At the same time, being in a leadership role has given me many new insights, and I want to use these lessons to continue growing myself.
My first goal is to become a leader whom staff can easily approach for questions and advice. Ultimately, I aspire to take on greater responsibility and help lead the company forward.
