Currently, I am engaged in service operations at an airport facility, handling the operation of passenger carts and autonomous wheelchairs. Every day, I strive to ensure that travelers can enjoy their journeys with peace of mind and comfort. During night shifts, I take on a broad range of responsibilities as a supervisor, including managing staff and operations as well as preparing documentation.
My hobby is spending time with my pets, which brings me daily comfort. On my days off, I cherish leisurely moments with my family, taking relaxing walks with my pets—a truly blissful time!

ABEYGUNAWARDANA HARSHA PRABODHA
Airport Operations Company A / Airport Facility Service Operations / Contract Employee
Since childhood, I have aspired to study abroad, which led me to attend a Japanese language school before graduating from an international business vocational school. Afterward, I worked as a nursing assistant in a medical setting, providing care and support to patients. This role required meticulous attention and flexibility, making communication with patients my top priority. Later, leveraging the communication skills I developed in my previous role, I transitioned to service operations at an airport facility. In my current position, I am responsible for operating passenger carts and assisting travelers to ensure they enjoy a safe and comfortable journey.
How did you come to take on your current job?
I have always wanted to work in an international environment.
There are two reasons why I decided to take my current position. The first is that I enjoy working with various people, and I have always wanted to work in an international environment. Therefore, I was attracted to airport operations because it allows me to interact with people from many different countries and cultures, which provides a unique working environment. I wanted to utilize my communication skills and support abilities, so I applied for this position.
The second reason is that the company actively recruits foreigners and offers an environment where I can improve my career while learning languages. The opportunity to work with a multinational team and expand my global perspective while gaining experience was very appealing to me, which is why I decided to join the company.

What do you feel about working for a Japanese company?
Realizing the importance of achieving goals through collaboration with others
The reason I first considered living in Japan was because I heard from acquaintances living there that Japan is safer and more affordable compared to other countries, making it a comfortable place to live. Additionally, the better salary and benefits compared to my home country were a major deciding factor.
Upon starting a job at a Japanese company, I noticed that Japanese people value “attention to detail,” “thoroughness,” and “time management” in their work. I was able to deeply learn the importance of these qualities from my Japanese colleagues. Furthermore, experiencing a workplace culture that emphasizes teamwork made me realize the significance of collaborating with others to achieve goals.
Through these experiences, I feel that my skills and mindset have significantly developed.

What are your future goals?
Become a full-time employee!
My goal for the future is to become a full-time employee. To achieve this, I plan to improve my language skills and complete the training I am receiving from my supervisor. I aim to become a professional who can support and earn the trust of each customer, providing services that ensure their peace of mind and satisfaction. Furthermore, not only do I want to focus on my own growth, but I also aspire to take on a role where I can mentor and train other staff members, helping to support and develop them.
